Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has introduced that it has achieved cumulative gross sales of three million (30 lakh items) of its 125cc bikes – the Shine 125 and SP125 – in jap India. This displays each, the final market shift in direction of 125cc bikes from fuel-sipping 100cc commuter bikes, in addition to HMSI’s place as a dominant participant within the 125cc motorbike section in east India, which incorporates the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha, together with the seven North-Eastern states.

HMSI claims it had a market share of 41.5 p.c in FY2024 on this area, with Bihar being the highest contributing state, accounting for 35 p.c of its 125cc motorbike gross sales within the Eastern area. This interprets into 11.55 lakh (or 1.15 million) Shine 125 and SP125 bikes bought in Bihar.

According to HMSI, the model has over 1,100 gross sales and repair touchpoints within the Eastern states of India, and gross sales of the SP125 have greater than doubled within the final 5 years within the area. In FY2024, HMSI’s complete gross sales of the Shine 125 and SP125 have been 13,07,301 items, up 8 p.c, and in April 2024, the primary month of FY2025, 1,21,338 items have been dispatched to sellers, up 36 p.c (April 2023: 89,261 items).
